Egg donation is a fertility treatment where eggs from a healthy donor are fertilized with sperm in a laboratory and the resulting embryo(s) are transferred to the intended mother's uterus. It may be considered when a patient cannot use her own eggs because of age, diminished ovarian reserve or certain medical conditions.

Legal and regulatory requirements can depend on the treatment setting and patient circumstances. The clinic and international-patient team should confirm current requirements for the specific case before treatment.
Donor eligibility is determined through medical screening and clinic criteria. Assessment may include medical history, physical examination, infectious-disease screening, and other tests considered appropriate by the treating center.
Costs vary with the treatment plan, donor-related services, medications, laboratory procedures, and additional support. A personalized estimate should follow case review.
Outcomes depend on donor characteristics, embryo development, recipient health, uterine factors, laboratory performance, and other clinical variables. A case-specific estimate requires medical review.
